Ovetta Sampson is a nationally award-winning journalist with extensive experience in writing, editing and digital marketing. Her writing has appeared in more than 40 national and international publications including The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and The Chicago Tribune and she has done marketing for several global companies. It was her writing that got her into triathlons when she began as the web content manager at www.beginnertriathlete.com, in 2004 and did her first sprint triathlon that same year. Several triathlons, three 1/2 marathons and three 1/2 Iron distance races later, she is still in love with triathlons and helping others succeed in the sport. In 2007, she started Faith Inspired Triathlon Training, FITT, a triathlon training programming for at-risk and minority youth in Colorado Springs and this is when she first heard about Bernard and Tri-Masters. Now in Chicago, she manages marketing, medial relations and special events for Tri-Masters, including indoor triathlons for adults around town, fundraising and anything else Bernard asks her to do!
