James L. Cox Jr.Triathlon Coach James has led the training of the Tri-Masters Sports Initiative Program summer training camp for 5 years. The techniques, motivation and desire to be the best that he learned during his career in the United States Army, gives James the foundation for coaching and inspiring the young Tri-Masters athletes. In addition to discipline and hard work, James emphasizes proper stretching and confidence building. Prior to working with Tri-Masters, James utilized his passion for mentoring youth by working in various programs throughout the city of Chicago such as Uhlich Children's Home, Catholic Charities, and the Columbus/Maryville Shelter Program. At Harlan High School, James was 2000-2001 Assistant Boys Basketball Coach and Head Girls Basketball Coach from 1995-1996, and served as Athletic Counselor for the National Youth Sports Program from 1995-1997. James is currently attending Chicago State University and he expects to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2004. Copyright 2008 Tri-Masters |
